The Olivet Cemetery is located on the west side of the city along Shipherd Street. The first recorded burial was in 1839, and is the resting place of Rev. John Shipherd, whom founded Olivet College in 1844. The cemetery is also very proudly the resting place of veterans from the Civil War, World Wars I and II. 

The cemetery is decorated every year with American Flags, to honor our soldiers service on Veterans Day and Memorial Day.

The cemetery is governed by the Olivet Cemetery Board.

The cemetery has four platted sections:

(A) is the Original Section of the cemetery

(B) is the Burkhead Addition

(C) is the Davis  Addition

(D) is the Dennison Addition
